Physician Assistant resume example

A strong physician assistant summary reads like this. Swap in your own numbers and settings:

Certified physician assistant with six years in orthopedic surgery. I run a clinic schedule of 20 to 25 patients a day and first assist in the OR two days a week. I also cover post op rounding and call for a four surgeon practice. NCCPA certified with active licenses in two states, charting in Epic.

Skills recruiters search for

These are the terms recruiters and ATS filters look for on a physician assistant resume. Use the ones that are true for you:

PA-CNCCPA certificationFirst assistSuturing and wound closureHistory and physicalsPre op and post op careEpicE/M codingSplinting and castingJoint injectionsInpatient roundingCall coverageDEA registrationPatient education

How to list your credentials

List PA-C after your name, then give your NCCPA certification and each state license its own line with the state named. Add your DEA registration if you have one.

Resume tips for physician assistants

  • Lead with your specialty and setting. Physician assistant alone is too broad for a recruiter to place you.
  • Count what you do. Patients per day in clinic and cases per week in the OR say more than a list of duties.
  • Name the procedures you perform on your own. Suturing, splinting, injections, whatever applies to your practice.
  • Note your supervising or collaborating physician setup if your state requires one. It answers the credentialing question before it gets asked.
  • Keep your NCCPA status near the top. Recruiters verify certification before they read anything else.
  • New grads should lead with clinical rotations and the hours in each. That is your experience section until your first job.

How matching works

  1. 1
    Upload
Parser fills your name, contact, credentials (PA-C / PA), specialty, state, years of experience.
  2. 2
    Pick public or private
Public profiles get an indexed page (first name + last initial only). Private profiles only appear in the matching engine — invisible elsewhere.
  3. 3
    Get matched
Your top matches surface on your private profile page (the edit URL we send on submit), refreshed daily. You decide whether to apply.
