Medical Assistant resume example

A strong medical assistant summary reads like this. Swap in your own numbers and settings:

Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) with four years in family practice and urgent care. I room 20 to 25 patients a day, take vitals and histories, give injections, run EKGs, and handle refill requests in Epic and eClinicalWorks. Comfortable on the front desk too, with scheduling and insurance verification. Looking for a full-time clinic role with steady patient flow.

Skills recruiters search for

These are the terms recruiters and ATS filters look for on a medical assistant resume. Use the ones that are true for you:

How to list your credentials

Put your certification next to your name and again in a certifications section: CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), or CCMA (NHA), with the year earned. Most states do not license medical assistants, so the certification is the credential employers check.

Resume tips for medical assistants

  • Name your certification and certifying body. CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), and CCMA (NHA) are different credentials, and employers search for the exact one their posting asks for.
  • Say how many patients you room per day. It is the fastest way to show a hiring manager your pace.
  • Split clinical skills and front-office skills into two short lists. Most MA jobs need both, and recruiters scan for each separately.
  • List your EHR systems by name. Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, and Athenahealth all get keyword searched.
  • Call out hands-on skills like blood draws and EKGs, and say how often you do them. 'Daily blood draws' beats 'phlebotomy trained.'
  • If you speak a second language, put it near the top. Clinics hire for it.

How matching works

  1. 1
    Upload
Parser fills your name, contact, credentials (CMA / RMA / CCMA), specialty, state, years of experience.
  2. 2
    Pick public or private
Public profiles get an indexed page (first name + last initial only). Private profiles only appear in the matching engine — invisible elsewhere.
  3. 3
    Get matched
Your top matches surface on your private profile page (the edit URL we send on submit), refreshed daily. You decide whether to apply.
