Dental Hygienist resume example
A strong dental hygienist summary reads like this. Swap in your own numbers and settings:
Licensed RDH with six years in general practice and one year in a periodontics office. I see 8 to 10 patients a day and handle my own perio charting and SRP. I run on time, which front desks notice, and I am comfortable in Dentrix and Eaglesoft. Local anesthesia certified in my state and looking for a practice that books me full.
Skills recruiters search for
These are the terms recruiters and ATS filters look for on a dental hygienist resume. Use the ones that are true for you:
How to list your credentials
Put RDH after your name and list your state license with the number and expiration in a licenses section. Add local anesthesia or nitrous oxide permits if your state issues them, plus CPR certification.
Resume tips for dental hygienists
- Put your patients-per-day number in your first bullet. Offices schedule production around it.
- List your clinical permits exactly as your state names them. Local anesthesia and nitrous permits change which offices can use you.
- Name your practice software. Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental experience means a shorter ramp-up and offices know it.
- Call out perio experience separately. SRP volume matters to perio offices and to general practices with big perio programs.
- If you temp or work PRN, list the range of office types you have covered. It shows you can walk into any operatory and produce.
- Keep your license line current. An expired-looking license date is the fastest way to get screened out.
